Timing your Treadmill Workouts for Optimum Effect
Getting the right amount of exercise each day can be quite a difficult task to achieve. Experts recommend that we "push play" for at least 30 minutes - which is time over and above our usual daily exercise such as walking around the house and preparing dinner, etc.
But with people busier today than they ever have been before - plucking 30 minutes from thin air is actually quite difficult! Nevertheless, it is something which you will need to do. Here are a few ways to make it easier, and not so demanding on your time.
Setting an Exercise Regime
Many people have said that exercising at the same time each day is an excellent way to accomplish your fitness goals. This is because once you are used to working out at a particular time, you are more likely to save that time in your mind - and therefore not book over it - in the future.
For example, let's say that you exercise at 4:00pm every day. If you were to make this your statutory exercise time, you would be able to plan everything around it to ensure that the time was not taken up.
Exercise routines can also be in the following formats:
- A set time each day when exercise will be done.
- A number of days per week when exercise must be done, without a specific time.
- A specific distance to run on your treadmill with no set days or times.
Different people will find different strategies best. For example, someone who has an extremely busy schedule with a lot of commitments popping up here and there might prefer a flexible routine such as the point in number three.
However, someone who wants to ensure that they always complete a reasonable amount of exercise - on time and with no setbacks - might be better off choosing the first or second schedule.
Why People Fail At Their Exercise Goals?
People who are unable to come up with a satisfactory exercise plan often fail in their goals entirely. Planning, just like in business, is the key to a successful workout regime.
If you're not planning your daily or weekly exercise periods - now is a good time to start. A little action here can go a long way!
